So, my aunt went to the Burchfield Penney Art museum last week to see photos done by a man named Milton Rogovin (miltonrogovin.com) of Native Americas throughout Canada and the Lower West Side. As she was browsing, what does she find but a picture of me on my Papa's shoulders when I was about 2 years old. The cool part is, I have this picture sitting on my dresser. I inherited it after my papa passed; before then it hung in his living room. So, I started digging, and on his website, he has a listing for the Native American photos, and if you scroll through on the bottom, the third to last photo is of a little girl on a mans' shoulder. That's me and my Papa, when I was about 2. I thought it was too cool not to share, and it made me grin to see that someone who meant the world to me could be shared with people.

http://www.miltonrogovin.com/photoseries/nativeamericans.html

Man I really need to get better at the whole keeping up on things. I haven't fared well so far. Wrap up of what's happened recently...

Went to Denver. Had an awesome time with Brandy. Saw some of the most beautiful parts of the area. Manitou Springs is wonderful. I fell in love with all the little shops and the atmosphere. The colors on the trees and cool air were so refreshing. Hungarian Goulash is amazing. Potato pancakes! Yum. :) Driving in Colorado is terrifying.. lots of lanes and 70mph speed limits.. crazy. Estes Park is gorgeous.. got a beautiful necklace from Omnibus.. probably should have bought like 3 more... must definitely go back. Stanley Hotel was cool. No ghosts >_> at least none that bothered me.. Saw Elk! Got lots of pictures as well. Boulder is perfect. If I could live anywhere out of the places I've been, it'd be there.

What else? Oh... I'm learning to crochet.. idle hands. *shrugs* it's slow.. not sure I'm going to make the scarfs I wanted to by christmas, but I'm learning still. Also going to take an art class or two at Hyatt's. Reminds me.. really need to sign up for those.

Job sucks. Nothing more needs to be said.

Being single kinda sucks, but I'm getting better at it. Taking time to work on myself right now... that and read a LOT of books.

Would really like suggestions for places to visit in the US... maybe I should get a passport.

Hmm.. I seem to be in the mood to do crafts. I'm working on something for Brandy, and while I was waiting for it to dry, I worked on some little book marks for fun. Gave the one I liked best to Carly (my brother's girlfriend). It seemed to fit her.. with blues and yellows and very simple but nice. I hope she liked it.

So.. I made a profile on gk2gk.com for the hell of it. Maybe, if nothing else, I can find some friends with common interests around her, or at least close by. Even if it's just talking on the phone with them for now. Can't hurt, right?

Aion comes out next week. I'm looking forward to it. The game play looks pretty cool, and battling in the air will be different. I hope Nate will be okay with me playing.. he seems okay and Paul wants me to play with them. We shall see. If worse comes to worse I can play with people from Heretic instead. *shrugs* We shall see.

Have a job interview on Thursday. It shall be interesting. I hope it goes well as I'm not sure how much longer I can do this job and not hurt someone or go insane.. Has not been good lately. >_<

Also, 22 days till I go to Denver. Can't wait to see Brandy and to see the city of Denver :) It will be awesome.

Falling apart

3 weeks.. that's how long I was okay with everything that happened. And now, today, out of no where my mind decides it's time to fall apart. Not fair. I didn't want to cry... I really, really didn't. There's no reason to. It was an adult decision between both of us. I don't know if it was the pain yesterday, or the head ache today, but I just broke. Couldn't keep myself together anymore. 5 years is a long time to just cut all ties. And I don't hate him. Not even close. I'll always love him in a way; as a friend. But I'm not sure he wants that at all. And then his best friend wants so badly for us to fix it; the problem is there isn't anything to fix. You can't fix this. We want too different of a future to make it work. It's not anybody's fault; it just happened. I think I've changed in the last year. I've realized I'm not who I was when it all began... we diverged somewhere. Things just aren't the same, and never will be. I'm trying to pick up the pieces and figure myself out, but sometimes I feel like I'm left in the dark. I don't know what to do with myself. I don't really have anybody here to turn to. I put on a brave face for everybody at home; they felt it was time, as did I, but I don't think I was as prepared as I fooled myself into thinking I was. *sighs* The trip to denver will be good for me. A cleansing or new start... I need to figure myself out and I need to reconnect with everybody. I've been any social, and I feel I owe a lot of people apologies. I should have kept in touch and made time.. I'm sorry.

Well, I finally did it. I bought tickets to go to Denver. I'll be there from October 6th - 14th :) I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I've never flown, so that's a little nerve racking >_<. I know Brandy and I have planned a couple days. I have to look into hotels, car rentals and things to do yet. :) And I'll meet Misty finally! It's only been like 12 years of writing!

What else? Oh! I get to go camping in July. A week at the Hill. We're supposed to be running all over though. Sculpture Park, Rock City, Alleghany State Park, possible Letchworth and Ellicottville. :) Can't wait. Rest and relaxation, here I come.

Work has been kind of crappy... but Ill live. At least we're almost full staffed, and can get things done now. Thats a relief.

I feel like I've been missing so many things. I've become so closed off from everyone that it's becoming a bit depressing. I don't really hang out with people outside of Nate and Paul and ocassionally Steve and Mike; but I have no girlfriends, no one I can cut loose with and laugh myself silly with. *sighs*

I did a 3.1 mile walk yesterday. I was proud of myself. Thought for sure I was going to just fall over after mile 2, but I bounced back. Now I just have to do that every day. I want to change so much, and I've decided this will be the starting point. I need to be more motivated, and do more to make myself happy and help myself to be better. I think I need to go back to school, get my masters. Definately need to get my CCNA. I just wish I could get help with it, or have more support. I know my parents want me to go back and better myself, but it seems like Nate just isn't behind me; like he finds it silly, or that it'll ruin his plans.. *shrugs* I dunno what to think anymore.

I feel like I'm questioning everything right now about my life. I know I can't move out because of student loans and my car loan, and I know I will go no where at my job, but I'm afraid to try anything else because I don't think there is anything better out there right now. I'm itching for Brandy to come, I miss her so much it almost hurts.. it's been over two years since I'm seen her and I can't wait to just have her around, even if it's only for a little while. I think it'll be refreshing to have her around. She always knows how to make me smile and we always manage to have fun, even when we're doing nothing.

Well, I guess I should get back to work.

It seems like it's been forever (once again) since I posted. I wish I could say I had a real good excuse but I really don't. I've just been generally lazy. >_< I haven't done much of anything. But, since I've realized this, I've decided it's time to make some changes. I've decided to start playing around with art supplies and not be terrified, just try a little everyday. Who knows, maybe it'll help. I've decided I need to MOVE everyday. Walk, job, rollerblade, bike... don't care, just need to go out for a little bit every day. I've also started changing around my diet and I'm trying to fill up on veggies and fruit and not all the junk >_< I'm really not happy with myself right now, and maybe this will help.

I definately need to work on my self confidence again.. it's kind of gone down the drain. I knew it wasn't good when I was hiding in hoodies and barely smiling >_< I also need to either make some new friends or reconnect with some old ones. I need a girls night.... and to go places. I'm really looking forward to Ren Fest again, and I think next week I'm going to Canal Fest with my parents to see someone play. I've been getting into music again and picked up some new CDs. Got Duffy, Simply Plan, Gavin Degraw.. been looking at some others as well. Need to make Nate a mixed CD since he needs music for his new car (I can't believe her drove to NYC/Long Island to get a new car!).

What else? oh... must work on my desk... I want to have it sanded this week if nothing else... then I have to pant it, put on the new handles and then decopage the top with pictures and post cards. So, people, send me pictures/drawings/stickers! I needs stuffs to purtify it :) lol. Than I think I'm going to get a sheet of plexiglass to cover it so it doesn't ruin. :) so much fun. I think if the weather holds up I might try and doe that today. Plus it'll give me a chance to clear out some junk that's been piling up. I already filed all my bills last night. I have to fax my defensive driver's course certificate to my insurance company to get my 10% off, plus fax it to the union for a percentage reimbursed.

I think I'm going to go either try and read or draw for a bit... then data entry! goodie *rolls eyes*

It is always strange when you have dreams about people you're never really met. >_< For some reason Jeremy was in my dreams and I was in Portland, "seeing the sights" and ended up hanging out with you. It's really weird because we haven't even had time to talk in forever! It's also the first time I've remembered a dream in months (at the very least).

Hmm.. what else? I bought a new car. I got a Kia Spectra5. It's white and very cute. :) The old tank just wasn't going to stand up much longer. Especially not after that guy hit me in the parking lot last November. But, the tank does live on. My brother's girlfriend has it now and is using it to go to and from school.

I've finally gotten back into reading. I missed it terribly, but for some reason I was in a rut. No matter what I just couldn't get into a book. So, I revisited a beloved series and am happily jugging along on book 5 in the past two weeks. :) There's another set of books I want to read yet that I got for christmas, plus I want to re-read another series as the first book is going to be a movie that will be released in December. And, I have two book on pre-order, one for May and the other for August :) hehe.. One Day I'll have a library of my own if I keep this up.

I've been enjoying my new laptop very much, although I could have enjoyed it better if I didn't have to get Vista. Alas, they did not offer XP. But, it's a 17inch FP and had a DVD rom/burner, good processor and decent amount of ram. I think next year I might up the ram though, since I can double the amount yet. And, my MP3 player will actually work with it; it didn't want to sync with my old laptop, and so both the laptop and mp3 player would crash whenever I tried.

Moving on, I'm playing a "new" game. Nate, Paul and I joined up with Dark Age of Camelot again. I have a Friar, a Cleric and a Scout to play with. Though I think the cleric is pretty much done for, since I have the Friar for out group extravaganza's and the Scout just for kicks. If anybody else decides to play, you can post on our board your characters names and stuff and maybe we can get together. it's at www.pendragon-guild.com - Plus you can see our roleplay (which we are just getting together, so hopefully it'll have substance soon) and see Aion, which will be our new venture when it comes out. Hopefully someone else will want to play as well, so we can get a decent starting to it.

Well, I should probably get to work. Thank god it's my friday and payday ;) Later!

So, I've been at work since 2:30am this morning. *sighs* it was not planned. I got a call from my boss at 7:00pm telling me he needed me to work in order to cover for another guy. It was a valid reason though. The guy's son was brought to the ER and was really sick. It just sucks that I had so short notice. So, I only slept from 8:30pm - 1:30am, but it was a very crappy sleep. I'll probably go home and crash when I get out at 2:30pm this afternoon. The only good thing about this is that its more money towards a new car.

Yes, you heard right, the tank is on it's last legs in life. I'm saddened to see it go, but it is time for a new car. I've been trying not to freak out over the money thing. What sucks is I have to get my own insurance as well, so I have to be able to afford the car payment, insurance and still pay on my student loans. >_< ick. At least I have some money saved up for it.. though I was hoping to use it for some sort of getaway.

What else? Oh! I've been playing Hellgate London and I actually have been enjoying it. I play an Evoker. They walk to line between good and evil basically. They user the powers of the darkness to fight with against the darkness. It's pretty cool. Nathan plays a Guardian. He's a big tank basically; fights with a sword and shield and Paul plays an engineer. He gets to create robots that help to fight and protect; it's pretty cool.

I hope misty and brandy both got their letters and gifts. I know brandy got the letter, and I was happy I could make her day. I'll be so happy when she writes back. I miss her so much. I don't have any girlfriends to hang out with, and she was the best. We always had a great time hanging out, wandering Elmwood, watching anime, listening to music, drawing :) Miss it all.

Well, I'm going to get back to work. Try not to fall asleep. >_< bye

Hmm.. I should probably try and update more often... I've been in one of those internet funks. I really want nothing to do with computers at the moment. I haven't turned on my laptop in a couple weeks at least. Which, I guess considering my profession, is kind of terrible. Though, I think my job is the main reason I don't want to touch a PC.

I've been so busy at work it's been insane. We have several upgrade projects going on, so between trying to put together PCs with the correct programs and taking 30-40 calls a day, I'm tired of computers, phones and people by the end of the day. >_< Don't get me wrong; there are times I absolutely love my job, and I love talking to people and helping them. They seem to love me too... my dad constantly gets told what a sweetheart I am and just how good a job I'm doing. It's kind of wierd, but at the same time makes me feel good about my job. I just wish I knew for sure it was mine. See, unfortunately, when I started my job, it was what they term provisional. What this means is that in order for me to have the job perminantly, I first have to take a test and score high enough to secure the position. The test was posted back in July, and everyone in our office that has the job applied and paid the price for the test. It is December and we still haven't heard a thing. Not a peep.

Now, this is what pisses me off about New York State (from here on NYS). They will take your money (because they deem it necessary to take this f*ing test) and then they never follow through and actually have the damn thing. NYS does this with everything; example, we have to pay tolls to drive on the highway. NYS says these tolls are in order to keep up the highways. Now, if you lived here, you'd know that this is not the case. The Federal Government provides all states with money to keep up highways; we learn this in junior high. So, where does this money go? Who the hell knows, probably lining politician pockets, or going to the lovely NYC. *rolls eyes* This is the same with sales taxes and the "lottery" system that is supposed to benefit the school systems. All I have to say is bullshit! I grew up in a public school, and they aren't doing anything to help these kids/schools out.

*sighs* Onto a better subject. I've been getting ready for christmas. I only have to buy one more gift for my dad, and then I'll be done. :) And it's been snowing, a lot! Lovin' it! :) hehe. I took off Wednesday and Thursday this week so that I can wrap and help finish baking cookies. We're so close to being done. I think we have to make a double batch of chocolate chip, a batch of eggnogg cookies, frost the sugar cookie cutouts, dip the orange raison oatmeal cookies and white chocolate and then make the gift plates and we'll be golden. I guess I'm having christmas dinner with Nates family on Saturday. I work Sunday and Monday, and then I'm off on Christmas day. My mom has to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We'll go to my Grandparents house Christmas Eve after everyone gets out of work, and then Christmas Day I'll probably make the dinner (or at least start it) and when she gets out of work we'll have dinner and probably open gifts. It'll be good. Then I work New Year's Day, which will be dead as can be, so I can catch up on work/reading/movie watching. lol. That's one time that the portable DVD player Nate gave me really comes in handy.

You know, I really want to get back into art. I think I might start taking some classes at like JoAnn fabrics or something. I want to learn the basics for painting definately, and then maybe some more basics for charcoal/graphite for the hell of it. Plus it'd be cheap. I also want to take some cooking classes at Wegmans. Maybe sometime I'll actually go back to school, but, alas, I have to pay for a new car and my own insurance next.

Why a new car? Well, the tank is on it's last legs. And the nail in the coffin was the guy that ran into me at the mall. He killed my bumper, and the signal light, and unfortunately the insurance company will not give me the full amount for the repairs. It's cheaper for them to just buy out the car then to fix it, so I now need to find a car I (1) can afford, (2) can pay the insurance on and (3) can at least tolerate the damn thing. *sighs* at least I can hope I'll have actually heating and airconditioning that works.

What else? Well, I finished the Sword of Truth series finally. It was sad to see it end but at the same time I'm glad it didn't go on forever. And I'm okay with the ending. It wasn't drawn out, the power was kinda cool, and I could live with the ending. The Speach Richard gave was very much geared at us and the world of today. Someday I'm sure it'll be quoted somewhere. I am greatly anticipating Goodkind's next foray into the world of writing. Speaking of stories, I'm really looking forward to a lot of new movies. I went and saw I AM LEGEND which was alright, though it ended very abruptly. I want to see the new Narnia movie, the new batman movie and a couple others. I'm also excited about hopefully getting the Harry Potter movie and Stardust. :)

Well, I'm going to go and read my book and relax. Hope everyone is doing good! Later

We're in the process of moving... I did not think it was possible for us to have SO much stuff. >_< My bedroom and my brothers bedroom are still at the old house.. as well as everything in the attic and basement that is ours. I guess we're going to unpack some stuff today, organize and make room for everything so that we can start on the rest of it. I figure I'll be sleeping at the old house a could more days this week, then we'll move the rest of my stuff. At least I'll have time to pack some more things.

I am so sore and tired right now. We cleaned thursday night and moved over boxes and some little things. I painted and moved friday (was up till 2AM painting >_<). Saturday I was up at 7am, got the truck with my dad, painted and cleaned/unpacked a little, then spent the rest of the day moving things to the new house. Now I have to work, which sucks, cause nothing I need to get done can be done until I get home around 3. Oh well, hopefully my dad and brother will have some stuff done; then when myself and my mom get home, we'll do some more. I still don't have a rug, and probably won't for a while I figure. I'm hoping today we can get my mom's room, the living room, kitchen and some of the basement done.

Well, I should probably go back to work now... I just can't think clearly enough to do any of the mind numbingly boring inventory stuff, my eyes just glaze over on me. :(

PS: If somebody needs my new address, e-mail me. amanda_general@yahoo.com

I'll be working Sun - Tue 6:30am-2:30pm and Wed/Thur 2:30pm-10:30pm, with Friday/Saturday off. I'm kind of happy about it. I figure, a few weeks of that, and once the new guy is trained for the midnight shift, I'll be pushed up to full days :P Which will be pretty awesome cause it's what I've wanted from the beginning. I'm also on work day 9 of 10, and will probably jump for joy when I'm done tomorrow. To celebrate, I will be buying myself new socks, underwear and bras. Possibly a pair of pants or an outfit and I'm thinking about getting the new Avril Lavigne CD (if it's out, I haven't even checked yet).

What else? well, I've been doodling a little bit. I need to pull out my tablet and play with it, but it's so damn slow on my laptop >_< so I just stick with pen and paper for the time being. I've been doing a lot of reading again. I've read all of my books I got for christmas, and also some of the books from my birthday as well. Right now, I'm reading a book on jack the ripper. It's quite interesting from an investigative/criminal justice standpoint. It's by Patricia Cornwell.

Oh! The most interesting thing is that my family plans on moving. My parents go approved for a home loan and are in the process of house hunting at the moment. Which is a weird possibility since I've lived in the same apartment since I was 5. But they're really serious and I'm looking forward to it to be honest. I think it'd be cool to finally live in a house. Moving is going to be interesting. I don't really count moving to school or Rochester as actually moving since I still came back to the apartment on weekends and holidays. Wish us luck in finding a house in a nice area!

Well I should probably get back to imaging the PCs. I have three left out of the huge stack they gave us, and it'll take me the rest of the night to do those. Talk to you later.

So, unplanned over time kind of sucks. On the upside, it's money, at a higher rate than my normal pay, which is always nice. On the down side, there is the fact that I've been here since 10:20 (which is when I'm normally getting up) and have been awake sine 8:30. The problem with that is that normally I go to bed at 2, so when I tried to get to bed at Midnight, I could not fall asleep. I think I finally passed out after 1:30am, and then was woken up by my dog barking and then taking a flying leap onto my bed (and subsequently, my legs), and the shortly after that, my parents awoke for work, turning on the hallway light which flooded my room. So, between all this I think I got about 5 hours of sleep. I'm not a happy camper at this point. *sighs* I've been running around playing catch up since I got to work, I have two PCs I need to format and set up for users, and I need to stay awake the rest of my shift and there is no one here to talk to. Can I cry now? At least my headache went away. Well, I'm going to go and try to keep myself awake. Maybe I'll buy a chocolate milk and some cookies... mmm.. chocolate :p

I'm entirely too easily amused. For those who like Stephen Lynch or D&D or both, here's a link to make you laugh (not for the serious)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joylAVP6v5M
Him and Mitch Hedberg (may he rest in peace) are awesome. I like Dane Cook once in a while too. Anybody have any other suggestions?

How has everybody been? I'm doing alright. I'll be moving to days permanently in a month or so. :) So, I'm happy. I've been debating starting to study for some of the certifications I want. I think I can teach some for myself and then just take the test, instead of the stupid (and expensive) courses.

I'm hoping to be more social eventually, but if any of you are late owls, I get out of work at 10:30pm and I'd be willing to hang out for a little while (as long as the weather isn't horrible - don't like driving in snow >_< though, the tank can handle it :) ).

Talk to you guys later.

Well, I've been at my job for almost two months now. It's overall a pretty decent job, nothing too extrenuous, but enough to keep my busy and motivated. I did some bouncing around on schedules the past couple weeks. I was 8am - 4pm, then 6:30am - 2:30pm, then 7am - 3pm, now I'm 2:30pm to 10:30pm. My social life is pretty much non existent for now. On top of it, I work Tuesday through Saturday. *shrugs and sighs* What can you do? The pay is great, people are overall really nice, and my shift seems kinda laid back. The weird person that I am, I make work for myself.

Oh! I got all of my christmas shopping done last week. I was super excited. That almost never happens. Although, I still have to wrap half the stuff I bought. lol. I'll probably finish that this week coming up. Speaking of Christmas, I was Christmas day, as well as New Years Day. My family is oh so happy about that.. same with Nate's family. After the new year this should get better. They're hiring someone else, so I won't be the only one on my shift.

My new MP3 player is my favorite new toy. I love having the choice on what I can listen to, especially to the extent I do with 20 gigs of memory. :) it's as big as my hard drive on my laptop lol.

Well, I should get back to work. Talk to everyone later! Miss you all!

I was beginning to think I'd never get a job but finally I did. I'm moving to ECMC to be a Senior Technical Assistant in their HIS department. It's not much different from what I do now, but I'm sure there will be much more involvement. The first few weeks I'll be working 8-4 for training. After my training is done I'll be working 2:30pm to 10:30pm. I know.. ugly shift, but it's the first job offer I've had in the 5 months I've been looking. The pay is great. I think I may get a new car at the beginning of the new year... not sure yet, since it all depends on how long my poor car lasts (which I doubt will be much longer). I'm happy to have it since I have to start paying back my loans in January, ick. I get to dress up for this job, so I got all sorts of new dress clothes. :) I'm so happy and relieved about this. I hope my boyfriend doesn't get too upset about the hours.. it'll be rough, but the shifts only m-f for the most part. *shrugs* well, I'm gonna get back to work. bye bye.

Well, we made it through the first big storm of the winter season.. though it's not even winter yet. *sighs* If you've heard anything about the Buffalo/Western New York area and the disaster it is, please keep us in your prayers. Thankfully I got out of it pretty unscathed. Most of a tree fell on my car, but did no damage. Also, we have power, though no phone or internet. My neighborhood looks like a war zone. There's trees and power lines (as well as phone and cable lines) in the streets. They actually said our area was getting federal disaster aid.. that's how bad it is. Some 250,000 poeple are without heat or power right now. I couldn't get into work on friday due to my car being burried, but I did volunteer at the hospital where my mom work from 3pm - 8:30pm. I worked with her in the dietary department cooking and serving food to patients and staff. It felt good to do something since I felt so useless.
I spent part of Saturday dragging branches and trees out of the street and from around my car while my uncle cut them down with the chain saw. It's definately been rough. I'll try and post pictures at some point, not sure when. Well, I should get back to work. Hope everyone else is safe and warm!
